Although our flight to $60,000+ has slipped below the intended track, we are just over half-way to the minimum goal and there is good news to report. Led by Island Thrift, several supporters of the Celebration of Flight Dinner and Auction have changed their pledge of support to a Challenge Pledge totaling $15,000 for this Mid-year Appeal.
While lost revenue due to COVID-19 and cancellation of the Celebration of Flight created a hole of nearly $80,000 in the museum budget, reaching a minimum dollar altitude of $60,000 will go a long way toward closing the gap. Now, each additional dollar donated by 30 September will be doubled by a matching challenge dollar. Matched donations can get our flight back on track to achieve the goal.
We are grateful for all the donations received so far. The museum honestly needs support from everyone out there. Each dollar counts. Together we can overcome the impact of COVID-19 and keep the museum in a position to purchase land for a new facility.
Donations may be made here or by mailing a check made out to the Pacific Northwest Naval Air Museum, PO Box 941, Oak Harbor, WA 98277.
