From the Desks of Onee and Richard …
I have been volunteering as much as I can at the Museum thus far this year. Knee surgery has slowed me down a bit, but I know I am better because lately when I arrive at my car, I realize my walking stick is still back at the Museum!
It is always enjoyable to talk with our many donors. So many thank us for preserving history with our artifact displays, the PBY-5A, and our Homoja Hut. Often people who begin as donors join us as Museum members to further help support our mission.
Our newest members are:
Dan Toner, Oak Harbor, WA
Vincent Quidachay, Oak Harbor, WA
Rodger Felton, Anacortes, WA
Kyle Huang/Jenny Yan, Oak Harbor, WA
Paulina Hinojos, Oak Harbor, WA
Roy Grinnell, Bellevue, WA
Cameron T. Smith, Oak Harbor, WA
Nick Vacca, Livingston, TX
Now that summer is here, come visit the Museum and walk through our Outdoor Display Area. Docents are waiting to welcome you.

I, too, have spent the past few months volunteering. First, and most importantly, was helping my wife recover from knee surgery. At the Museum, I served on the Celebration of Flight Auction Committee. I continue my job as Tour Coordinator, and help out as needed in the Ship’s Store and as a Museum docent.
Another enjoyable event for me that presents our story to the community is having vehicles in local parades. We decorate our vehicles according to the occasion, wave to the crowd, and hear the parade announcer encourage everyone to visit the Museum. I and others have driven in the Oak Harbor St. Patrick’s Day, Holland Happening, and Fourth of July Parades, as well as, the Coupeville Memorial Day Parade. Next up will be Seattle Seafair Parades.
Hope to see you at the Parades and at the Museum!
