If you have a love of history or simply want to volunteer for your Navy and Whidbey Island community, come join the Pacific Northwest Naval Air Museum. We are all volunteers at the PBYMF and you’re welcome to be part of the team! Please email us at

Admissions/Gift Shop volunteers greet visitors at museum entrance, take admission payments, provide visitors with self-guided tours maps, and handle sales of gift shop items.

Volunteer docents assist with admissions and gift shop operations, guide visitors to the Aircraft Display Area, assist visitors with interactive exhibits and answer visitor questions.

Join us in restoring our vintage PBY aircraft  as well as our replica Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier,  M211 WW II military truck or our Cargo loader. We need skills such as engine knowledge, sheet metal, machining parts, painting, wood-working and can always use extra hands for routine daily and weekly chores too!

Collections team volunteers primarily process artifacts that are donated to the museum. This includes researching and documenting artifact identification and entering information in the collections database.
Administration volunteers maintain museum records, enter information into financial and contact databases, process incoming mail as well as outgoing mass mailings, maintain membership and donor records and support museum marketing efforts.
Event volunteers staff representational booths at community events, drive/ride in community parades, and organize fundraising events.

For more information, stop by the museum or call 1-360-240-9500
